Pastors have an almost limitless number of duties in their role as leader of the Church. The Pastor has a duty to “feed the flock” with God’s Word and to lead them in the proper way as he guards the doctrine of the Church. A pastoral council is a consultative body in the parish that serves to advise the priest about pastoral issues. They do not make laws or vote to set rules. Their calling is advisory to the Pastor who ultimately makes the decisions.
