Activities of the Youth Group of St. Monica's are ongoing.
Even children in First Grade and beyond are welcome at some
activities!

St.
Monica's Youth Group is working with St. Barbara’s Parish.
Father Phil Massetti, Jeff McHale & Michelle Stark and members of
the Parishes are striving to develop a more vibrant & in-depth
out-reach to the youth of the Parishes and the area.
The Youth
Group had been very busy over the recent holidays. They've
volunteered for the VISION program, made gingerbread houses,
gone Christmas caroling, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity
and recently cheered Special Olympic athletes...don't miss out
on the fun- call Michelle Stark!

men of Mother Teresa's Haven at St. Joseph's
Ongoing: The group will be

brought Trick or Treating fun to Wesley Village

On October 29, 2011, the St. Monica Youth
Group turned the tables on the residents of Wesley Village by
creating a homemade "town" for the residents to go "trick or
treating".

visits Pro-Life Center

Recently, the St. Monica Youth Group
visited the Pro-Life Center in Wilkes-Barre. While there,
they presented items donated for the center by the St. Monica
parishioners.

Youth Group visits St. Vincent de Paul
soup kitchen

Recently our youth group
presented a check to the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen from
money raised during a yard sale.

Youth Group visits St. Joseph's
Center

On Sunday, June 12th, the youth group spent the afternoon
with residents of St. Joseph's Center in Scranton. While
there, a donation of $70 was made.

The youth group recently had a lemonade stand which raised $90
that was donated to the SPCA of Wyoming Valley

On March 26th, the youth group
participated in Bowl for Kids' Sake at Stanton Lanes in
Wilkes-Barre. The group raised over $200 for Big Brothers/
Big Sisters!

The St. Monica Parish Youth Group recently held a "Senior Prom"
for the residents of Wesley Village Personal Care/ Independent
Living Home. About 30 residents and 8 youth group members
took part in singing, dancing, and plenty of fun!

Youth Group helps Habitat for Humanity
On Sunday, 10/31/10, the Youth Group of St. Monica's Parish held
a bake sale after Mass to raise money for Wyoming Valley Habitat
for Humanity. The sale raised $110, plus Price Chopper of
Wyoming donated a $10 gift card. From the money raised,
lunch was provided for the volunteers working on a home in
Edwardsville on 11/6/10; $100 was donated to the charity as
well.

In November, the St. Monica Youth Group
prepared a Thanksgiving dinner which they shared with one of the
homebound parishoners.
