Two Boy Scouts from St. Monica's received the "Ad Altare Dei" Award from Bishop Bambera in Scranton on June 8th.
The "Ad Altare Dei" (to the Altar of God) Emblem is the 3rd religious emblem a Scout can receive. The purpose of the program is to help Catholic Boy Scouts of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community. The program is worked on within a group setting with the aid of a counselor. It is organized into chapters based on the seven Sacraments, which are a primary means toward spiritual growth.

With his parents' active assistance and participation (special workbook requirements are worked on), it is hoped that the Cub will come to see Jesus as a real person and his friend.
